Terms of service

These terms apply to every order you place with Tailshire through tailshire.uk. Please read them before you order. By placing an order, you agree to these terms. They do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.

1. Who can order

Our shop is for consumers who are at least 18 years old and who buy for their own private use, not for resale or business purposes. We currently deliver only to addresses in Great Britain (see our Shipping Policy).

2. How the contract is made

  1. When you place an order, you make an offer to buy the products in your basket.
  2. We will then send you an email confirming that we have received your order. This email is not yet an acceptance of your order.
  3. The contract between you and us is made when we email you to confirm that your order has been dispatched.

We may decline an order, for example if a product is out of stock, if we cannot deliver to your address, or if there is an obvious pricing error (see section 4). If we decline your order after you have paid, we will refund you in full straight away.

Your contract with us is in English. We do not keep a separate copy of it for you, so please save or print your order confirmation and these terms.

3. Prices and payment

  • All prices are shown in pounds sterling (£) and include UK VAT.
  • Delivery costs are shown separately in your basket and at checkout before you pay.
  • You can pay with the payment methods shown at checkout. Payment is taken when you place your order.
  • We take care to show the correct prices. If we find an obvious error in a price (for example, an item listed at a fraction of its real price) before your order is dispatched, we will contact you. You can then buy the item at the correct price or cancel your order and get a full refund.

4. Discount codes

Discount codes can only be used once per order, cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be combined with other offers unless we say so. Each code is valid only for the period and conditions stated with it.

5. Delivery

Delivery areas, times and costs are set out in our Shipping Policy. The products become your responsibility once they have been delivered to you or to someone you have named. You own the products once we have received full payment.

6. Your right to cancel

You can cancel your order within 14 days after you receive it, without giving a reason. How this works, and the model cancellation form, are set out in our Returns & Refunds policy.

7. Faulty or damaged products

We are under a legal duty to supply products that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If a product is faulty, damaged or not as described, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Our Returns & Refunds policy explains what to do. Nothing in these terms affects these legal rights.

8. Product information and pet safety

  • Product photos are for illustration. Colours may look slightly different depending on your screen, and small changes to design or packaging can happen.
  • Sizes and measurements are approximate. Please check them against your pet before ordering.
  • check products regularly for wear and damage, and remove any damaged product straight away, as small parts can be swallowed.
  • Please follow any care and usage instructions provided with the product.

9. Our liability to you

  • If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach or of our failure to use reasonable care and skill. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen or if both of us knew it might happen when the contract was made.
  • We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for breach of your legal rights in relation to the products.
  • We only supply products for private use. We are not liable to you for any loss of profit, loss of business or business interruption.
  • We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control (for example, strikes, extreme weather, carrier or customs disruption). If such an event affects your order, we will contact you as soon as possible. If there is a significant delay, you can cancel and get a full refund for products you have not received.

10. Reviews and content you send us

If you submit a review, photo or video, you confirm that it is your own, honest and lawful, and you allow us to show it on our website and social media channels free of charge. We may refuse or remove content that is offensive, unlawful or not related to the product.

11. Our content

All content on tailshire.uk, including texts, photos, logos and design, belongs to us or our licensors. You may not copy or use it for commercial purposes without our written permission.

12. Your personal data

We use your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Complaints

If you have a problem or complaint, please email us at support@tailshire.uk with your order number. We will reply as quickly as possible and in any case within 7 days.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when the law changes. The terms that apply to your order are the ones shown on our website at the time you placed it.

15. Other important terms

  • If a court decides that any part of these terms is invalid, the rest of the terms will still apply.
  • If we do not insist on you meeting any of your obligations straight away, we can still require you to do so later.
  • No one other than you and us has any rights under these terms.

16. Which law applies and where you can bring proceedings

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can also bring proceedings in Scotland. As a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the part of the UK where you live.
